Ontario’s largest art sale west of Toronto is on at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
More than 300 pieces by 76 artists from around the region will be available for purchase starting Friday. Private viewings by appointment are scheduled for today.
Gallery Art Consultant Jasmine Lazdins says the art sale is for everyone.
“You don’t need to be an established art collector, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to participate. We are featuring many works for entry-level collectors. Even if you don’t plan to make a purchase, we hope you join us and enjoy the artwork on display,” says Lazdins.
The sale runs until Sunday at 5 p.m. Admission to the event and all galleries is free while the show is on.
Founded in 1914, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is the oldest and largest public art gallery in southwestern Ontario.
Its permanent collection focuses on historical Canadian, International and Contemporary art and numbers more than 11,000 works.
