Bristol Gallery Weekend is back for 2025, once more taking place across the spring equinox weekend.
Aiming not only to celebrate the rich variety of creative spaces across the city but also to widen access to art and culture, the event brings together a host of venues for an extensive programme of exhibitions, workshops, activities, talks and private views.
This year, participating venues include Serchia, 17 Midland Road, Circular ArtSpace, Frankenstein Press, ArtPark, Hidden Gallery, The Island, Kit Form, The Launderette, The Stradling Collection, Studio 74 Contemporary Art and the Museum of Totterdown.

Large and established galleries including Arnolfini, Spike Island, Royal West of England Academy (RWA), Centrespace Gallery and the Royal Photographic Society are also taking part.
A map of galleries and details of special events has now been released, featuring opportunities to meet artists, watch demonstrations and live art performances, tour studios, and have a go at developing new skills including screenprinting and linocut.

As part of the weekend, the Whiteladies Road-based Rainmaker Gallery will be inviting visitors in to their current exhibition of work by Māori artist Te Rangitu Netana, MOKO PUNA. Netana will be resident at the gallery on March 21 to demonstrate the art of Tā Moko tattooing using traditional handmade tools.
“The practice of Tā Moko has considerable cultural and spiritual importance,” explains gallery owner, Jo Prince.
“Patterns and techniques are passed down from generation to generation amongst Māori peoples. Known for his fine lines and intricate detail, Netana weaves the tattoo bearer’s personal life story into his designs, marking their skin with a unique artwork that reflects their own lineage, beliefs and spirituality.”

Te Rangitu Netana: MOKO PUNA is at Rainmaker Gallery until April 26. Netana will be in situ at the gallery from 11am-4pm on March 21.
