MEMBERS of a Ross-shire art group are looking forward to a great public showcase for their work in the county town this weekend.

Dingwall Art Group (DAG) will stage its 2025 Summer Exhibition in the Alchemist Gallery for the first time this year.

The opportunity offered by gallery owner, Hazel Gordon, was eagerly welcomed – and coincides with this weekend’s Feil Maree street fair.

The exhibition includes vibrant work in a variety of media by around 20 local artists, some members of the group for over 15 years.

The affordable and colourful paintings include everything from flowers, boats, animals and feathered friends, to stunning Highland scenery.

The group meets every Thursday morning in Dingwall Community Centre during term times and welcomes many guest tutors who are all local artists themselves. They include Jonathan Shearer; Lynne Roberts and Tania Mackie.

The members benefit from learning new techniques and experimenting with a variety of different styles. The summer months also see this enthusiastic bunch out and about enjoying their ‘on location’ days.

Geoff Potter, chairperson, said: “We are delighted to have been invited to exhibit in the Alchemist. Hazel, Ella and John have been very supportive.”

The exhibition runs from Friday, September 5 to Monday, September 8 (excluding Sunday).

The event is seen as a great chance to check out Dingwall’s shopping charms while enjoying the street fair.
