The U3A Yate and Sodbury Art Group will be hosting their second summer art exhibition at Yate Library from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 23.
Members of the art group will be present during opening hours to discuss their work and answer any questions about the group.
Group leader Mike Hayward said: “The exhibition has become a highlight of our year and gives members a real sense of purpose and pride.
“Some have taken up painting for the first time since retirement, and showing their work in public is a big and exciting step.”
The group, which is part of the University of the Third Age (U3A), meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at Yate Bowling Club.
The 30 members work in a wide range of media including watercolours, acrylics, pastels, pencil and collage.
Mr Hayward added: “We’re always delighted by the reactions of visitors.
“People are often surprised by the talent on show—and even more surprised to discover it’s all produced by local amateurs.”
