This Saturday (Sept 27), local NGO Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) will host Art & Soul, a charity art exhibition with acclaimed Malaysia-born, New York-based artist Eng Tay.
Held at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur’s The Library on level one from 4pm to 9pm, the event will be more than just an evening of creativity and elegance.
Eng Tay has donated 118 exclusive etchings, each available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting WAO’s shelters, counselling hotlines and advocacy work supporting survivors of domestic violence. Two rare pieces will also be featured in a special auction for attendees.
Since 1982, Women’s Aid Organisation has provided free shelter, counselling and crisis support to women and children who experience abuse. The organisation helps these women and their children rebuild their lives after surviving domestic violence, rape and trafficking, among others. Every artwork sold helps WAO provide safe refuge, legal aid and long-term support for women and children escaping abuse.
By purchasing a piece, you’ll be helping WAO continue its life-saving work while bringing home a timeless creation by Eng Tay, who is famous for his gentle, round shaped and fluid paintings, sculptures and etchings, depicting wholesome themes like family, friendship, love, music and the nature.
