The Irton Group Art Show is set to take place over the weekend of October 4 and 5 at Santon Bridge Village Hall.

Members of the group will display a selection of fresh artworks, highlighting the group’s varied approach.

A group member said: “The result is always an exhibition which is both challenging and enjoyable to the viewer.

“Styles and subject matter range from the traditional to the abstract, calling at various points between.”

The Irton Group is known for its experimental approach, with artists participating in monthly workshops focusing on different aspects of art.

These workshops are often led by a group mentor who provides guidance, followed by encouragement for development and diversification.

Recent workshops have included outdoor painting, working with found objects, and printing with gelli plates.

The exhibition at Santon Bridge village hall will be open from 11am to 4pm on both days, with free parking and entry.

Visitors can enjoy refreshments, including tea, coffee, and cakes.

The artists themselves will be present at the show and are open to discussing their work and the possibility of joining the group.

Situated near the Bridge Inn at Santon Bridge, on the road from Eskdale to Wasdale, the hall will be clearly signposted.

In addition to the original artworks, there will be a variety of artist prints and cards available for purchase.
