A tower overlooking the river Thames in central London was used as the canvas for a spectacular projection-mapping display ahead of the first major football final in England of 2025.
The show, which was commissioned by Sela, the shirt sponsor of Newcastle United, one of the finalists, saw the 119m-tall Millbank Tower lit up with a range of images connected to the club.
The projection-mapping display, which was undertaken by Pixel Artworks, depicted highlights from Newcastle’s cup run, as well as images of the city and animations of the club’s fans travelling to Wembley Stadium.

Other images included flying magpies – reflecting the club’s nickname – and those of some of the club’s main players, including both goal scorers in the final.
Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-1 to win the Carabao Cup – the club’s first major trophy since 1969.
