A total of 50 artists are taking part in “Discovering a Beautiful Mind” exhibition at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Organised by Galeri Kita in collaboration with Artists’ Corner, the event at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara showcases over 200 artworks by both neurodivergent and neurotypical artists. It runs until Sept 14.

Galeri Kita chairman Datuk Aminuddin Abdul Manaf said the exhibition was not only about presenting artworks, but about creating a sustainable platform for inclusivity.

“Together, with genuine collaboration across communities, corporations and institutions, we can ensure that Malaysian art is not only admired but respected as a global benchmark for inclusivity and cultural innovation,” he said in a statement, as reported by Bernama.

Support from both public and private sectors was vital in strengthening the creative ecosystem, he said.

“If Malaysia is to build a truly sustainable creative ecosystem, then every artist, regardless of ability, background or label, must be given the same dignity to create, compete and thrive,” said Aminuddin.

The exhibition is supported by Youth and Sports as well as Women, Family and Community Development ministries.

Present was Youth and Sports Department leadership development division director Laila Nazura Nawi.

Proceeds from sales of the artworks will be channelled into the organisers’ art education programmes.
