A five-day group art exhibition titled Shilpa Sandhan is under way at Safiuddin Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in the capital.
The event showcases the diverse art heritage of Bangladesh.
Jointly organised by Zobra the art village and Dot to Line the exhibition is displaying 55 works of 24 contemporary artists of the country.
The artworks created in acrylic and oil on canvas and watercolour on paper explore the contemporary art practice of Bangladesh.

The exhibition displays landscape, portrait, still life, conceptual designs and abstract forms with representational and presentational style.
Jamal Ahmed’s watercolour on paper titled Going Home shows women and children returning home before the rain.

‘Shilpa Sandhan is not an art platform, but an outcome of a series of art camps organised by Zobra the art village and Dot to Line to explore and patronise art,’ said Touhid Shimul, chief executive officer of Zobra the art village.
‘The exhibition is displaying artworks of Cox’s Bazar Art Camp and Gazipur Art Camp where artists from different parts of the country participated. We believe this programme will go beyond the borders,’ said Rubina Nargis, director of Dot to Line.
The exhibition, inaugurated on Saturday, will end on October 16.
