Krookodile is a Ground/Dark-type creature introduced in the fifth generation of Pokemon games. This crocodile-inspired monster is the final form in the Sandile evolutionary line, and can only be obtained via evolutions in most games. To have a Krookodile, players need to capture a Sandile, evolve it into Krokorok at Level 29, and then finally into Krookodile at Level 40. At high levels, Krookodile has access to powerful abilities such as Thrash, or Outrage.

Now, a Pokemon fan called dhio_art shared a Fire/Steel-type variant of Krookodile with the community. In this new design, the Pokemon gains a metal skin, looking more like a construct, and it has smoke coming out of its nostrils, likely to signalize its fire-based powers. The fan art was very well received by the community, which discussed what kind of variant this alternative Krookodile was part of. Some of the most popular theories included that this could be a regional variant, convergent form, or even a future Paradox form. However, none of these alternatives was confirmed by the creator.

Pokemon Fan Art Depicts Krookodile as a Fire/Steel-type

This is not the first alternative version of a Pokemon designed by dhio_art. A few months ago, the fan created unique branched evolutions for Sunflora, creating three unique images. The artist reimagined Sunflora during its lifecycle, coming up with a version that had extra arms, one looking brighter, and a final form that resembled a rotten plant nearing its demise.

Fan art of Pokemon with alternative types is very common in the franchise’s community. Earlier this month, for example, one fan created a Ghost/Fairy-type Eeveelution. The new design retained Eevee’s overall shape but turned it into a cute spectral white creature that looked like a ghost.

Another good-looking fan art shared with the community recently was a Fire/Dark-type hellish version of Shellder called Hellder. In this design, the artist remade Shellder to have a bi-forked tongue, two small horns, and a red shell instead of the classic blue one, gaining several compliments from fellow fans.
