Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along.

The Scarlet Witch and Wiccan reunite in striking new MCU fan art that imagines the powerful heroes using their abilities in comic-accurate costumes. Billy Maximoff’s return in Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along series, with him now being portrayed by Joe Locke, has developed the world of witches and the mythology of the Scarlet Witch in the MCU fantastically. Originally played by Julian Hilliard in WandaVision, Billy Maximoff’s return as Wiccan has made the Scarlet Witch’s own much-anticipated return more likely.

Joe Locke’s “Teen” was confirmed to be Billy Maximoff at the end of Agatha All Along episode 5, “Darkest Hour, Wake Thy Power.” He used his blue magic to throw Agatha Harkness and her coven off the Witches’ Road in a fit of rage, reminiscent of his mother’s own abilities and lack of control. Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch has been heavily rumored to be returning to the MCU despite her death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and new art shared by marveldsign imagines what this could look like, bringing her side-by-side with her son, Wiccan.

What Wiccan’s MCU Return Means For The Scarlet Witch’s Story

Joe Locke Portrays Billy Maximoff’s Wiccan In Agatha All Along

Billy Maximoff’s return in Agatha All Along makes it even more likely that Wanda Maximoff will also return, especially since both lost their lives during the MCU’s Phase 4. In WandaVision, Billy Maximoff ceased to exist when the Scarlet Witch dismantled the Hex around Westview, New Jersey, while Wanda Maximoff sacrificed her own life to destroy the Darkhold in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Since Billy has since returned, albeit in a brand-new body, the stage is set for Elizabeth Olsen to reprise her iconic MCU role, too.

In Marvel Comics, after the Scarlet Witch disappeared following the House of M event, the reincarnated version of Billy Maximoff, Billy Kaplan’s Wiccan, set out with the Young Avengers to find his missing mother. Billy Maximoff’s return in William Kaplan’s body in the MCU seems to have perfectly set up an adaptation of Marvel Comics’ Children’s Crusade storyline. This could easily lead to the reintroduction of the Scarlet Witch in the MCU, with her perhaps being found with amnesia in the arms of Doctor Doom, just like she was found in the comics.

Our Take On Wiccan & The Scarlet Witch Reuniting In The MCU

It Would Be Great To See The Scarlet Witch & Wiccan Reunite

The Maximoff family in Westview in WandaVision

While Wanda Maximoff has been mentioned many times in Agatha All Along, there hasn’t yet been any sign of her actually returning to the MCU. Even so, it would be brilliant to see Elizabeth Olsen reprise her role opposite Joe Locke’s Wiccan, bringing mother and son back together, and hopefully setting up a reunion of the entire Maximoff family from WandaVision. Seeing the Scarlet Witch, Wiccan, Speed and Paul Bettany’s Vision come back together would be thrilling, and would be a huge healing event for Wanda Maximoff, who has had an incredibly troubled MCU history.
