Key Takeaways
- A Pokemon fan creates a new evolution for Charcadet, adding the Fairy type.
- The fan also designed another evolution for Charcadet called Verdestral, adding a Dark-type variant with axe blades.
- The popularity of Charcadet leads to more fan-made evolutions as the franchise continues to grow.
An artistic Pokemon fan has rolled out their own take on a potential new evolution for Charcadet, the tiny knight-like creature introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced more than 100 new monsters to the franchise, Charcadet stood out by having two separate evolutionary paths for players to choose from.
Unlike most Pokemon, Fire-type mixed attacker Charcadet doesn’t evolve by simply leveling up. Instead, players have to give it a new set of armor. The Auspicious Armor, which can only be found in Pokemon Scarlet, transforms it into Armarouge, a special attacker with the Psychic type added, while the Malicious Armor, which only naturally appears in Pokemon Violet, turns it into Ceruledge, adding the Ghost type and turning it into a physical attacker. However, players can trade the items between games, which doesn’t lock either evolution out of either version of the game.

Pokemon Fan Designs Impressive Mega Evolutions
A Pokemon fan creates new Mega Evolutions for six Pokemon that are currently lacking the form in the official games.
Both of the in-game evolutions are armament-focused, with Armarouge donning a heavy golden breastplate and pauldrons, and Ceruledge turning bluish-purple and gaining dual ghostly straight blades in place of its hands. One fan of the games has decided to continue this trend by designing a sky blue variant with the Fairy type added, naming their creation Lanzian. Based on a paladin, Reddit user ComprehensiveArmy711’s creation’s name is derived from the pair of dual lances it wields, though its creator decided to make it a special attacker due to the lack of quality Fairy-type moves that rely on the Attack stat. Like its actual in-game incarnations, this evolution requires its own set of armor, which its creator calls the Loyal Armor.
Pokemon Fan Makes New Design for Charcadet Evolution
This isn’t the first evolution for Charcadet designed by this particular creator either. Earlier this month, ComprehensiveArmy711 showed off another fan-made Charcadet evolution, this one a green-armored Dark-type variant with axe blades in place of its hands, named Verdestral. Based on the 14th-century chivalric romance Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, this version maintains its mixed-attacker stats and, like the others, comes with its own set of evolutionary armor.
Of course, this isn’t the only creator who has given their take on potential evolutions for Charcadet. With its design being a mix of cool and adorable, the tiny knight in crimson armor seems to have captured the hearts of a lot of Pokemon fans, and it’s likely that more fan-made evolutions will be surfacing as the franchise continues to grow.
