A GARDEN has been brought to life with new plants, colour and a striking piece of artwork.
The Drying Green, a RIG Arts project, welcomed 14 volunteers during a recent gardening session, who spent the day planting beans, courgettes, lettuce, kale, chard, pak choi, parsnips and beetroot.
A variety of flowers have also been planted in beds, pots and hanging baskets.
A highlight of the day was the completion of a mosaic by Alan Potter, who came to finish the project.
One volunteer, Shelagh, harvested more purple sprouting, and everyone had a taste of the flowers, which resemble sugar snap peas, with bunches available on the free bench.
The group is encouraging more people to get involved, whether by gardening or simply enjoying a cup of tea and a chat.
The next session will take place on Tuesday from 11am to 3pm.
